Job Description:
The position open is to join the Architecture and Interior Architecture program at the GIU. Courses taught range from design studios, history and theory of architecture, ecology and sustainable design, sociology and Interior Architecture. The program addresses local and global architectural and interior architecture challenges with sustainability and resilience as core topics of research.
Responsibilities:
Successful candidates will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate levels, develop ongoing and innovative research activities, and contribute to the further advancement of the architecture and interior architecture majors.
Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching in the following specializations:
History and theories of Architecture.
Architecture and Interior Architecture Design studios.
Building construction and working drawings (Architecture and Interior Architecture).
Advanced elective courses on heritage, conservation, design and construction management.
Supervising bachelor/master/PhD theses in the field Architecture Design and Interior Architecture.
Commitment to engage in interdisciplinary studies, research and collaboration with different university departments, and other national and international institutions.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Architecture from an accredited institution.
International academic and research experience is a required.
Demostrated experience in teaching history and theories of Architecture is required.
Demonstrated experience in teaching Interior Architecture studios is required.
Ability to lead Architecture design studios is essential.
Practical experience in the field of architecture design and interior architecture is highly valued.
Fluency in English is mandatory.
The language of teaching is English.
