We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Music Academy Coordinator to join our team at
the Music Academy for the GIU campus. This role involves a blend of administrative and
creative responsibilities, coordinating closely with various departments within the GIU
framework (in certain cases also GUC) and managing the intersection of artistic, academic
and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
● Coordinate internally between the music academy and other departments within GIU,
especially with key university stakeholders, including the Center of Continuing
Education, Student Activities, MPC, Faculty of Applied Sciences and Arts, External
Relations and more.
● Liaise between the academy’s management, GIU Music Circle and the future Music
School, as well as the GUC Music Ensemble
● Assist the heads of the academy and artistic/academic affairs with administrative
tasks.
● Assist in planning and budgeting the academy’s annual activities, including
negotiations with artists as well as obtaining necessary approvals and permits for
events and workshops.
● Manage inventory and lending system of the Music Academy’s equipment and
instruments
● Identify and engage external partners and sponsors, relevant to the music and arts
sector.
● Organize exchange projects between Egypt and Germany, within the GIU/GUC Berlin
Campus framework and beyond.
● Prepare technical riders for concerts and coordinate with suppliers.
● Conduct ongoing research on equipment and instrument needs for the academy, as
well as maintaining an updated inventory.
● Market and promote the academy through PR as well as digital marketing tools
(social media, email marketing, newsletter).
● Archive events, including documentation, media coverage, photos, and feedback.
● Help launch the GIU Music School, manage music school applications, instructor
contracts and payment processes.
Required Profile:
- Educational and Work Background / Language Proficiency
- Preferably a Masters degree in cultural management, management or musicology. Related
study fields or relevant work experience in a similar role is also possible. The candidate
should be highly proficient in spoken and written Arabic as well as in English.
- Musical Experience
- Practical experience in music is an asset. A passion for music and commitment to music
education are a must.
- Administrative Skills
- Proficiency in administrative tasks and software skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace,
Asana). Familiarity with design softwares and technology is an asset.
- Communication Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with colleagues, students and external
stakeholders. Additionally, skills in building relationships within the music community and
networking with stakeholders.
- Leadership and Team Management
- Experience in leading and managing teams as well as problem solving and conflict
management skills.
- Organizational Abilities
- Strong capability in organizing events and managing multiple tasks with impeccable time
management.
Additional Requirements
● Ability to walk extensively on campus.
● Flexibility for irregular working hours and sometimes work over the weekend, based
on the academy’s requirements.
● Knowledge of the cultural and musical scene in Egypt
