SharkTech 2026: Bridging Business and Technology at GIU

German International University (GIU) proudly hosted the first edition of the SharkTech Event, the capstone showcase of the Business Simulation course. Throughout the semester, third-year Business Administration (BA) and Business Informatics (BI) students collaborated in more than 55 interdisciplinary teams, combining business insight and technical expertise to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges. After months of ideation, research, teamwork, and development, 14 selected teams presented their projects before a distinguished panel and live audience.

KNOW - GIU Orientation Days for First Year Students

The “KNOW - GIU Orientation Program” took place for the first time on Tuesday and Wednesday 4th and 5th of October at the GIU. The orientation days targeted the GIU newcomers of all majors. The event aimed to complement the regular newcomers’ orientations with two-days orientation- phase the following week. The idea was to get the newcomers started in a series of light activities and events to break the ice before the official semester start. The orientation consisted of informative sessions introducing the students to the university regulations and providing them with useful tips to help them excel at their studies.

Faculty of Engineering Poster Day Event

GIU held its 1st Engineering Poster Day on June 20th, 2022 for its sixth semester Engineering students. During this event, the students showcased their prototypes and posters to present their accomplishments and to demonstrate their results and findings. The team-based projects provide opportunities for the students to gain experience by applying their knowledge, demonstrating their skills, and paving their career paths. In addition, they inspire other junior students with ideas that they can adopt to decide on their own Bachelor theses and internships. Thirty teams participated in the event, each individually addressing a particular area of technical interest, under the supervision of the Engineering Faculty members and some delegates from the industry.
