We are looking for candidates with both academic and professional expertise in the specific areas of Sensorics, Measurement and Instrumentation Systems, Smart Sensors and Actuators, Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), and IIoT. Knowledge of one or more of the following areas is a plus: PLC Programming, Modeling and Control of Industrial Processes, Process Engineering Systems, and Machine Learning as an integral part of computational intelligence within the context of industrial automation. The applicant should be ready to familiarize himself with neighboring disciplines in the fields of Automation, Control, and Robotics.

In addition, the applicant should be able to teach core and major courses in both the Electrical and the Mechanical Engineering tracks at the undergraduate, as well as more advanced and elective courses at the postgraduate level. The position will be equipped with a modern research and training lab.

Qualifications
• Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or Doctorate in a relevant field
• Candidates should be able to demonstrate their extensive industrial working experience (at least 3 years) in a related discipline: Work experience in the industrial development of different computer/mechatronic applications, with the aid of MATLAB software packages, and the use of smart sensors/robotics is also expected. Expertise in hands-on experience of developing projects in related multidisciplinary field is desirable.
• Track record of collaborative research and successful supervision
• Excellent teaching ability at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
• High capacity to develop pedagogical innovations and to manage a study program
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
• Proficiency in English (oral and written)

Successful candidates are expected to be committed to excellence in undergraduate or graduate teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who have a record of accomplishment in independent and applied research.
