H.E. Mr.Julius Georg Luy, Chairman of the German International University Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Co-Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Dr. Slim Abdennadher, President of the university, honored the top high school students from Egypt’s 27 governorates who meet the criteria for the full scholarships offered by the university. The Ceremony was held at the sister university “German University in Cairo”.
The German International University (GIU) honored the top Thanaweya Amma students by awarding them full scholarships, including living expenses for expatriates. The university also conveyed a reassuring message from the entire German educational system to Egyptian students, promising a distinguished educational journey that transcends borders.
The German University in Cairo organized a series of workshops on design, AI and music in the German capital, Berlin. The workshops were attended by Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German University in Cairo; Advisor Ahmed Al-Ansari, representing Ambassador Khaled Galal, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Germany; Peter Greisler, General Director of the Federal Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Anke Riefenstahl, Commissioner for International Science Policy and Foreign Education and Research Policy at the Federal Foreign Office; Amina Demirovic-Kuhne, Mayor of the Reinickendorf District Office in Berlin; Dr. Michael Harms, Deputy Secretary General of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD); along with a number of prominent journalists, media professionals, and public figures from both Egypt and Germany. The aim was to achieve knowledge and cultural exchange between the Egyptian and German peoples.

Under the guidance of course director Thomas Hill, Associate Professor of Conceptual Design and Sustainability, the fourth-semester fashion design students undertook a journey of creativity and sustainability.

Then the 'Dior Lady Art' came to life: multiple artists, especially women artists, were invited to interpret the iconography of the Lady Dior bag through their own artistic and poetic explorations resulting in a rich and eclectic repertoire of story-telling and aesthetics.
The unveiling took place at the Fashion District of Cairo Design Week, igniting a cultural dialogue and sparking intrigue among attendees. The project, aptly titled 'Miss Dior,' transcends traditional fashion boundaries, delving into broader interdisciplinary topics such as Egyptian history, feminism, civil rights, botany, Egyptology, and craftsmanship.
